Account Sharing
Elephant Trax currently supports Account Sharing.
Account Sharing allows a primary user to invite another person to access their Elephant Trax account. This is useful when family members, team members, assistants, movers, or professional organizers need to help manage boxes and inventory.
Can I share my inventory with another person?
Yes. You can share your Elephant Trax inventory with another person using the Account Sharing feature.
The primary user can invite another person from the Settings page. After the invitation is accepted, the invited user can switch into the shared account and help manage boxes and inventory.
How do I share my account with someone?
To share your account, open the Elephant Trax app and go to Settings.
Tap Account Sharing and invite the person by entering their email address. Once the invitation is sent, the other person will receive an invitation by email and may also receive an app notification.
The invited user must accept the invitation before they can access your shared account.
How does the invited user accept account sharing?
The invited user can accept the invitation in two ways:
They can open the invitation email and follow the instructions, or they can open the Elephant Trax app and accept the invitation from the notification.
They can also go to Settings > Account Sharing inside the app and accept the pending invitation from there.
Once accepted, they will be able to switch into the shared account.
What happens after the invited user accepts the invitation?
After accepting the invitation, the invited user becomes a secondary user on the shared account.
The secondary user can switch into the primary user’s account and manage inventory based on the available permissions. They may be able to create boxes, manage box details, add items, update inventory, assign QR codes, and help organize stored items.
How does a secondary user switch to the shared account?
The secondary user can switch accounts from the Account Sharing section.
They need to go to Settings > Account Sharing and choose the Switch Account option. From there, they can select the primary user’s account to access the shared inventory.
When the secondary user is using a shared account, a green bar will appear at the top of the app. This helps show that they are currently working inside another user’s shared account.
How can a secondary user switch back to their own account?
If the secondary user wants to return to their own account, they need to go to Settings > Account Sharing.
From there, they can tap Switch Account and select their own email address as the primary account. After switching back, they will be using their own Elephant Trax account again.
Can the secondary user create or manage boxes?
Yes. After switching into the shared account, the secondary user can manage the shared inventory based on the available permissions.
They may be able to create boxes, add item details, upload photos, assign QR codes, update box information, and organize inventory inside the shared account.
Can the primary user remove account sharing access?
Yes. The primary user can remove access at any time.
To remove someone, the primary user can go to Settings > Account Sharing, find the invited user, and remove their access. Once removed, the secondary user will no longer be able to access the shared account.
What does the green bar at the top mean?
The green bar appears when a secondary user has switched into another person’s shared account.
It is a reminder that the user is currently working inside the primary user’s account, not their own account. This helps prevent confusion when creating boxes, adding items, or managing QR codes.
What is the difference between a primary user and a secondary user?
The primary user is the original account owner. They can invite other users, manage account sharing, and remove access at any time.
The secondary user is the invited user. After accepting the invitation, they can switch into the shared account and help manage inventory based on the available access.
Can I cancel or remove an invitation?
Yes. If you invited someone and no longer want them to access your account, you can remove or cancel their invitation from Settings > Account Sharing.
If the user has already accepted the invitation, you can still remove their access from the same section.
How can professional organizers use Account Sharing?
Professional organizers can use Account Sharing to help clients organize boxes, bins, trunks, storage units, and household inventory.
For example, a client can invite the organizer as a secondary user. The organizer can then switch into the client’s account, create boxes, upload item photos, add item details, assign QR codes, and organize inventory.
When the work is complete, the client remains the primary account owner and can remove the organizer’s access at any time. This makes Account Sharing useful for home organizing, moving, decluttering, storage unit management, and business inventory support.
